The most exciting week ever!!

I know, I know...I am slaking in the blog department (sorry Grandma), but it is only because so many great things are going on! Last week I received a phone call from the Brunswick (Brittonkill) School District for an interview for Monday (6/8). I was very excited because this district in particular stood out to me. Their mission statement was very similar to my teaching beliefs. Their students also do a lot of community service type of work, which has always been important to me. The following day after I received this phone call, Dan received a call with our closing date, Wednesday the 10th (which happens to be his birthday). Well, I was happy but really wanted it on Thursday or Friday so I could take a couple of days off to work on the house. So, Dan was able to move it to Thursday the 11th!! Just 3 more days away!!!

Megan came into town on Friday and we had a mother daughter dinner at the distillery. We had fun showing our moms why we loved that place so much....and the smothered cheese fries!! After dinner, Megan and I went and watched Joelle's softball game and then headed to Pelican's Nest! I love my BFF's!! Dan came into town and met up with us. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling very well so we headed home.

Anthony and Emily's shower was on Saturday and what a success it was!!!! It was a Luau themed dual-gender shower filled with great food, great friends, and great games! I love Kan Jam!! It is the best game ever! Here are some pictures from the Luau:

Dan and I headed to Albany on Sunday since I had the interview on Monday. We stopped at camp on our way....I love the smell of the campfire---Summer...ready or not, here I come!

So I thought that my interview went well but wasn't expecting to hearing anything till the end of the week. So, when I got a call that afternoon offering me the job, I was shocked! Yippy!! I HAVE A JOB!! And not only do I have a job, but it is a position that I was interested in and in a district that I liked! I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted off of me!

On top of all that, I was home in time to make it to girls diner and then off to have a drink with Anthony and Emily. Today is the 2 year anniversary of them meeting! They are so perfect for each other!

I am heading back Wednesday night to celebrate Dan's birthday and then to our closing on Thursday! So much going on!!!!

We love you both so much and will miss you terribly when you move, but we are looking forward to your house-warming party and we'll bring kan-jam and our grass skirts! GREAT pics from the luau!! Thanks so much for all of your love, support, and friendship!!
